Toshiko Abe (阿部 俊子 Abe Toshi) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Miyagi Prefecture, she attended Miyagi Gakuin Women's Junior College and Mitsui Memorial Hospital Nursing School;UAB in Alabama, and University of Illinois Chicago for her Phd. in the United States. She was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in September 2005. She currently resides in her prefecture in Japan, and she is married to an American media professional.
